Troop 55 is a girls-only troop that launched February 20, 2019.  Girls aged 11 - 17 from Pasadena, and the surrounding area, are welcome to join.  Troop 55 offers the traditional scouting program that was exclusively offered to boys, but is now also be offered to girls. Participating girls have the opportunity to earn the coveted Eagle Award.  They will also be able to attend the many BSA camps like Cherry Valley on Catalina Island, as well as participate in well-regarded High Adventure programs such as Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier Canoe Base and Florida Sea Base.  

Building on the long tradition of Polytechnic's Troop 5, Troop 55 seeks to provide character and leadership experiences that give girls a solid foundation for their futures.  Weekly meetings will be girl-led and offer the opportunity to work on merit badges and other scouting activities.  Camp outs will be offered monthly, so girls can work on scout skills and rank advancement.
